Hi My name is Maura and I am the sole artist behind Belbabies Nursery.
From a very early age I have been a doll collector and love anything to do with dolls and babies so it was a natural desire for me to want to make these reborn babies for myself, never dreaming that I would make them to sell to other people.
Now 6 years into my hobby and over a 100 babies sold to happy new owners, I am proud to be able to show off my work to you all here through my website.

As this is my hobby and not my full time job, I need to combine part time work outside the home along with running a home with my husband Billy and two grown sons, I do however spend almost all my free time working on my babies. each baby takes up 3-4 weeks to complete.
Each baby being painted with many many thin layers of paint to give it a more realistic depth to the skin, I use heat set paints which are then baked in an oven so that they will last for many years to come.
The hair is micro rooted by hand 1 hair at a time, this is the most time consuming part of the process and can take as long as 50/100 hours of work for even a preemie sized head, but it is worth the time spent and I do love the rooting part.
Each baby is individual and would it be difficult to get exactly the same one again.
Each Reborn baby is weighted similar to a real baby.
Reborn babies wear real baby clothes from preemie, tiny baby, newborn to 0-3mths, and are a lot of fun to shop for.
